Earlier this month Blood Assurance's Bloodhound mascot, Hero, along with Looie the Lookout, distributed coloring books and crayons to patients at the Children's Hospital at Erlanger.
This month, for each blood donation received at Blood Assurance, the organization will donate coloring books and crayons to young patients who have to spend the holidays in the hospital.
Blood Assurance currently needs more than 540 volunteer blood donors each day in order to adequately supply the demand from local hospitals for the patients in need.
