Good Deed: Local nurse helps save man suffering from heart attack

While bicycling with his wife on a path near Fall Creek Falls, John Blount suffered a heart attack and fell off of his bike. Fortunately, two local medical professionals witnessed his collapse. They began life-saving CPR and continued until paramedics arrived. Mr. Blount was taken to Erlanger for treatment. Coincidentally, one of the nurses who helped him at the scene - Kristen Taylor - worked down the hall from his patient room at Erlanger.

"This situation is a perfect example of being in the right place at the right time," Taylor said. "Fortunately, my work in the health care field has trained me well for this kind of situation. It is an added bonus that I have been able to visit Mr. Blount and his wife to see his progress and improvement throughout his time at Erlanger."
