Sixth Cavalry Museum volunteers Ron Davis and Durinda Cheek, WAC Capt. Molly Cooper, WWII Airborne Ranger Joe Barkley, WWII Combat Nurse Karen Barkley, WWII Soldier Ross Greenwood and museum volunteer Nicole Hill participated in the 9th Annual "Remembering Our Heroes" School Days.

The 9th Annual "Remembering Our Heroes" School Days were held recently at the 6th Cavalry Museum and Chickamauga National Military Park. About 1,100 fifth-graders from Catoosa and Walker counties spent the day experiencing our local military history from the Civil War through World War II.

Bringing history to life for the students takes a dedicated core of living historians and volunteers. Our living historians traveled from Ohio, Alabama and Oak Ridge to engage with the students and show them what it was like being in World War II. These dedicated volunteers made School Days 2018 a huge success.

Executive Director, 6th Cavalry Museum
