The Chattanooga Autism Center has needed more space for several years. Thousands of people in our region need better access to services but the center didn't have the therapy rooms to fully meet this need. Remodeling and construction costs held us back, with the electrical work being one of the biggest expenses.

Jon Morrison, associate instructor in the Industrial Electricity Department at Chattanooga State, heard about our center's needs and offered his electrician students to get the job done. So we greenlit the remodel to add several new therapy rooms. Both Jon's night class and day students spent two weeks of shifts installing outlets, lights and switches, for free. Jon and other Chattanooga State staff supervised and ensured everything was done expertly and up to code.

Chattanooga is an incredible city with caring people who support one another with action. Chattanooga State is fostering this character in its students, too, ensuring our community keeps giving back to those in need.
