With the assistance of Beecher Hunter, CEO, every patient and resident of Life Care Centers of America in Cleveland, Tennessee, now has a copy of Bill Stamps' book, "Miz Lena," a memoir of his childhood and influential grandmother.

Friends and fans of Stamps' stories helped underwrite half of the costs related to the giveaway, including Maurice R. Bowen Jr., Cassey and Hoyt Clark Sr., Shelia and Chris Freeman, state Rep. Mark Hall, Martha Hancock, Marvin Kirkpatrick, Dr. C.A. and Marion Kyle, Wanda and Jim Mayfield, Catherine Tye McCoin, Ken and Cindi Phillips, Linda Prince and Ken and Dianne Webb.

Johnny W. Holden Jr., chairman of Mariner Finance and owner of Pioneer Jewelry and Pioneer Auto Sales, underwrote the other half.

Stamps' column, "Southern Folks," appears in the Sunday Life section of the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Last year, he earned a first-place award for personal column from the Tennessee Press Association.
