Led by teachers Dottie Love and Ashleigh Snyder, Battle Academy kindergarten/first-grade multi-age students recently hosted a Multi-age Community Market for which they made and sold handmade items to benefit a local nonprofit organization.

After much research and consideration, the students chose the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. On Oct. 23, students presented a donation of $220 to the Food Bank. Every $1 donated to the Food Bank helps to provide four meals, so these students' gift made 880 meals possible for other children, families, seniors, veterans and others.

We can't wait to see how they will continue to make our community an even better place to live.
