Rock City has established a community partner for each of its annual special events, and during the fall season's Rocktoberfest, it partners with the MaryEllen Locher Scholarship Foundation during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

A variety of pink "survivor" products is sold, including a pink rendition of the famous red "See Rock City birdhouse."

A portion of proceeds benefit the organization's scholarship program for students whose parents have been affected by breast cancer, and Mel's Club, an awareness program in local schools.

This year's MELSF scholarship winner is Sam McDonald, a rising sophomore at the University of the South.
