Opinion: Liberal elites' demand for hate not met by supply

File photo by Taylor Glascock of The New York Times / The actor Jussie Smollett, shown here in Chicago on Feb. 10, 2016, was found guilty on Dec. 9, 2021, of falsely reporting to the police that he had been the victim of a racist and homophobic assault in 2019, an attack that investigators presented as a hoax directed by the actor himself.

Call it a supply chain issue, but the left's demand for hate and homophobia has not nearly been met by our country. All the conjured-up narratives by the Hollywood elites are just not there. Let's just presume all that hate is on a freighter stuck in the ocean outside of L.A., waiting to be offloaded.

It has been a tough couple of weeks for liberal elites who peddle racial divisiveness.

News came about a situation we have with the Cuomo brothers, who now have a 100% unemployment rate. Justice was served in the Kyle Rittenhouse case. Actor Alec Baldwin, in a softball interview by "journalist" and Elf-on-the-Shelf George Stephanopoulos, said he did not pull the trigger and cried like a child. He should be worried. If arrested, he could be tried as an adult.

The left is so race-obsessed that they cannot have a reasoned conversation about any issue without bringing up race. It feeds our national divide. Stoked by the left, we cannot even sort laundry in America without being viewed as racist.

The left wants to defund the police. The actual number of Blacks killed by police in 2019 was 27, and fewer than half were unarmed. The left's hate for cops is so ginned up that the policeman in The Village People was let go. About 9,000 Blacks are killed in America each year. The vast majority (70% to 93%, depending on whom you listen to) are killed by other Blacks. That is the real story the media choose to ignore in cities like Chicago and Atlanta.

A while ago, I moved away from Buckhead because of the violence. Only once was I homesick for Atlanta, so I shot myself and broke into my own car.

Full-time basketball player and part-time idiot LeBron James tweeted, "We're literally hunted EVERYDAY/EVERYTIME we step foot outside the comfort of our homes!"

The BLM movement to defund the police has backfired. The rabid left, like LeBron, Baldwin, the Cuomos and Stephanopoulos, are protected by gun-toting, private security guards. They should not be allowed a voice in the gun control argument with those of us who have to defend ourselves.

The divide in America over trial verdicts tells us (much like the O.J. verdict in L.A.) what we need to know about the schism between coastal liberal elites and the rest of us. Most right-thinking folks agreed with the Rittenhouse, Arbery and Smollett verdicts.

Jussie Smollett paid two Nigerian brothers $3,400 to get him cocaine and then fake beating him up. Most Americans were appalled. Liberal elites in New York and L.A. thought $3,400 sounded like just about the right price.

One can see why Smollett would fake his own hate crime to get media coverage and to reach the highest level one can as a Democrat: a victim. False victimization movements play on our tribal and primitive emotions. They drive America apart when, in reality, we mostly tend to agree on right and wrong. Ideology and political identity have replaced reason and logic.

For some reason, when there is a racially charged verdict in America, perpetual looting and rioting ensue. Dr. King taught us that you cannot simultaneously fight violence while doing violence.

If you say anything about thinking the Smollett case was a hoax, like I have from the beginning, it becomes racial. Like the Russian collusion hoax against Trump, the facts just did not support the Smollett story.

Complexities caused by race-baiting obscure our real problems in America. Here it is Christmas, and I really want to listen to Bing Crosby's "White Christmas." But I don't want to be linked to Kyle Rittenhouse.

In the spirit of Christmas, I would like to offer Jussie Smollett some advice: You lied to promote your career and to tear America apart, and you were convicted. Just don't beat yourself up about it.
