The Salvation Army's Chattanooga Area Command celebrated the start of the holiday season with its annual campaign kickoff event on Nov. 5 to mark the beginning of the organization's Hope Marches On fundraising campaign.

This campaign includes three of the organization's hallmark holiday programs - Angel Tree Adoptions, Ringing at the Red Kettle and the #RedKettleChallenge - that serve more than 10,000 individuals throughout the area.

Salvation Army representatives, Walmart Market Manager Jeff Eversole, the top Salvation Army bellringers of 2020 and several local businesses issued the first Red Kettle challenges of 2021.

This year's sponsors include Hamilton Place and Northgate malls, Walmart, Long of Chattanooga, WDEF News 12, the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Reagan Outdoor Advertising, J103, Sunny 92.3 and Hits 96.
