The Pilot Club of Chattanooga recently presented several dozen bicycle helmets to the White Oak Bicycle Co-Op. The Co-Op refurbishes, if needed, and donates bicycles to those in need. About 20 helmets along with bicycles were given to individuals at the Co-Op's September event at White Oak Park in Red Bank. The group's next event is Oct. 9.

The volunteers of Pilot International advocate for the prevention of head injuries caused by accidents.

Pilot International, organized in 1921, was named for the leaders who "piloted" the riverboats of that day. The Chattanooga club was organized in 1938.
