Good Deed: Media outlet supports Mental Health Awareness Month

Working in the nonprofit world allows a person to encounter some first-class media contacts in the Tennessee Valley. Chattanooga is very fortunate to have great and reliable media coverage when it comes to charitable events. From newspapers, TV and radio stations to billboards, media coverage provides greater visibility, which in turn builds credibility for the various causes.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The employees at Volunteer Behavioral Health Care System want to thank Plainview Outdoor Advertising for donating one of its billboards to raise awareness about mental health. The company's community spirit goes a long way in helping fight the stigma of mental illness and providing support to families who are truly hurting. A billboard with a positive message allows people to know it is OK to ask for help. What a nice gift.
