Many tragedies cannot be predicted or avoided - particularly when strong passions get out of control.
There was a shocking example of that in Yuma, Ariz., this week. A 73-year-old man, obviously greatly upset over being divorced by his wife, went on a terrifying rampage. He fatally shot four people around Yuma - before killing the attorney who had represented his wife in the divorce. Then he killed himself.
Six human lives lost!
"This is not a random act," the Yuma police chief said.
It obviously also was not a rational one.
