How can Hill serve on two seats fairly?

As a resident of Chattanooga City Council District 2, I am concerned that a member of the school board, Jenny Hill, has chosen this difficult time to run to represent my district on the city council. She has said she intends to keep both seats if she wins.

I am not suggesting that she isn't a good school board member or wouldn't be a good city council member, but even in normal times, it would be hard to hold both positions without giving one of them short shrift. Right now, both our schools and the city are in the midst of an unprecedented crisis. Even after the pandemic, there will be challenges that will require extra time and energy from our elected leaders over the next year or two, at least.

I have to wonder why she chose to run for city council halfway through her first term on the school board rather than seeing through her commitment to teachers, students and parents with undivided attention. I'm sorry, but this seems to be less about public service and more about personal ambition.
