'Sanity' sorely needed at Pentagon

How many times can the Pentagon cry wolf? Beware. Nikita Khrushchev, Fidel Castro, Ho Chi Minh, Saddam Hussein, Omar Gaddafi, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jong il, Xi Ping, etc.

About 37,000 people work at the Pentagon, and no one can explain what we accomplished with the $2 trillion spent in Afghanistan.

One-half of the federal budget has flooded into the military for 75 years and it has accomplished nothing. Any other governmental spending pales in comparison. When can we approach a degree of sanity?

If Trump is right, he can't run again

Say, I was just thinking. Donald J. Trump has never conceded the 2016 election, and to this day he regularly states that he won.

Let's suppose he is not lying, but telling the truth. Therefore, having won two terms would make him ineligible to run for a third term in 2024.

Golden Rule needed now more than ever

So God is all-powerful, all-knowing and perfectly good. Why has God not intervened to stop the following: a) more than 5 million deaths worldwide from COVID-19; b) more than 744,000 deaths in the U.S. from COVID-19; c) more than 63 million deaths from abortions in the U.S. since 1973; d) more than 760,000 deaths from drug overdoses in the U.S. since 1994; and e) more than 6 million deaths during the Holocaust?

Where is your all-powerful, all-knowing and perfectly good God? Someone once said, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." We only have one another. Be kind and compassionate.

Consider another theory on climate

To everyone who believes that we are experiencing climate change that is caused by human activity, specifically the burning of fossil fuels by internal combustion engines, here is a theory that I think you should consider.

I am old enough to remember a time when if we needed heat, we had to have a fire. We used various fuels based on crude oil, coal, wood, gas, etc. These fuels were burned in stoves, fireplaces or outside. The more fuel you piled on the fire and the longer it burned, the hotter it got. The hot fire caused the outside of the stove to get very hot. The only way to cool the outside of the stove was to extinguish the fire on the inside .

It is common knowledge that the inside of the earth is on fire. We also know that the interior of the earth contains lots of fuel (gas, oil, coal).

I suggest you think of the earth as a large stove that has a hot fire and lots of fuel. Then consider if the warming of the climate as described bu Al Gore, Joe Biden and most Democrats makes any sense.

If the earth has a warming problem, maybe we can slow it down by pumping and mining fossil fuels as fast as we can, thereby leaving less to burn inside the earth. Think about that.
