Hamilton County remains among the most financially agile counties in the state.
Mayor Jim Coppinger just announced the county has retained it's AAA bond rating from the big three rating agencies.
"As early as 8 a.m. today, and we heard Monday from Standard & Poors that we have retained our AAA bond ratings from all three rating agencies," Coppinger said.
Coppinger said that was really good news, because the county would be issuing bonds later this month.
Commissioners praised Finance Administrator Albert Kiser and his staff for their work. The top-notch bond ratings saves county taxpayers millions of dollars in interest payments annually.
