NASHVILLE - A spokeswoman for Gov. Bill Haslam says the Tennessee Republican and other GOP governors met today with with presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump in New York.

"Gov. Haslam joined several other governors in New York today to meet with Mr. Trump and discuss state and federal issues," Haslam Press Secretary Jennifer Donnals said in response to a Times Free Press inquiry.

Haslam has so far declined to endorse the billionaire business tycoon and former TV reality star and at times hasn't been happy with some of Trump's more controversial comments.

Still, Haslam has said he and a group of other GOP governors would like to meet with Trump about state issues and the state and federal government relationship. During the GOP primaries, Haslam made a last-minute endorsement of U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. Trump won Tennessee.

CBS News earlier today reported that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant, and Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson are confirmed to show up.

The network also reported that Haslam and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey were also expected to come to the Trump Tower meeting.
