TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Quarterback Greg McElroy and tailback Mark Ingram had solid performances this afternoon as the White team defeated the Crimson 23-17 tie at Alabama's A-Day spring football game.

McElroy completed 11 of 17 first-half passes for 130 yards and had a 39-yard touchdown toss to Marquis Maze in the second quarter that put the Crimson ahead 10-7. Ingram, who won last season's Heisman Trophy, rushed nine times for 90 yards and had a 60-yard carry early in the third quarter that set up a 5-yard Eddie Lacy scoring run that made it 17-7.

A.J. McCarron helped rally the White team and threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Gibson on the game's final play.

The biggest number was the attendance, as a crowd of 91,312 watched the defending national champions.
