Georgia forward Trey Thompkins announced Thursday night that he will return to the Bulldogs for his junior season instead of entering the NBA draft. He informed coach Mark Fox and his teammates at the Georgia Basketball Tipoff Club's banquet at the Athens Country Club.
Thompkins had a team-leading 17.7 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who improved to 14-17 after going 12-20 in 2008-09. Among the teams Georgia defeated were NCAA tournament participants Florida, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
