Point guard Keegan Bell swished a 3-pointer from the right wing as time expired to lead the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to a 56-54 win over The Citadel on Thursday night.
The Mocs had to go the length of the floor with 3.2 seconds left in the game. Chris Early inbouned the ball to Jeremy Saffore at midcourt. Saffore flipped to Bell who took a dribble, drew a double, then rose and swished the shot in front of UTC's bench.
Bell and sophomore guard Ricky Taylor each had 11 points for UTC (11-6, 3-1 SoCon). Cameron Wells had a spectacular night for the Bulldogs with a season-high 28 points including a bucket to give The Citadel its only lead of the game in the final minute.
