Tackle John Theus back on field for Bulldogs

Georgia practiced Thursday for two hours in full pads, and joining the Bulldogs for the first time this spring was sophomore right tackle John Theus.

"It felt great to be out on the field today," said Theus, who underwent foot surgery in late January. "I know that I have a long way to go, but it felt really good to be out there grinding with the guys."

Thursday marked the first day of Georgia's annual two-day coaching clinic. About 300 high-school coaches attended the practice, and today's featured speaker is former Oakland and Tampa Bay coach and current "Monday Night Football" analyst Jon Gruden.

The Bulldogs will scrimmage for a second time Saturday morning.
