Thursday tickets are still good for Friday.

The basketball game between University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Western Carolina that was set for tonight has been postponed until Friday.

Administrators from both schools and the Southern Conference came to that conclusion on Wednesday afternoon after examining weather reports which impact both teams, the scheduled officials and the McKenzie Arena staff.

"We ended up changing the game for a number of reasons," UTC athletics director David Blackburn said Wednesday afternoon. "They're not going to be able to get out until tomorrow."

It's a scheduling quirk for both teams, but nothing that should impact the game or future games for either team.

UTC's next scheduled game is next Thursday against Georgia Southern. The Catamounts next scheduled game is Sunday at UNCG.

"Had we both had games on Saturday, it would have been more complicated," Blackburn said. "It's not going to be that big of a hiccup. It's going to be fine."

Mocs coach Will Wade said he kept the players aware of the fact that the game could be postponed. With the campus closed down, he couldn't get the team to practice.

"You plan to play on Thursday, but we'll do our normal Wednesday practice on Thursday," Wade said. "I've kept the guys aware of what's going on and tried to make sure they have what they need in their apartments.

"I'll continue to watch film, hopefully our guys are resting and they'll be ready to go on Friday."
