Covenant report
The NCAA Division III Scots finished 9-17 last season but return a five-player senior class and 10 players who have started games. Cox is the leading returning scorer, averaging 10.3 points per game while shooting nearly 40 percent from 3-point range in 2014-15. Boyd averaged 3.9 rebounds, which led last season's team.
Key matchup
With all due respect to the Scots, tonight's exhibition is about the Mocs. More specifically, it's about new head coach Matt McCall and the six newcomers getting their first taste of donning a UTC jersey and playing at McKenzie Arena. The home team has the size, speed, depth and quickness to make this a one-sided game early, which will allow some new Mocs the chance to make an impact.
