ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's basketball team upset Southeastern Conference opponent Georgia 92-90 in overtime Friday at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga.

The win was the program's first over a SEC opponent since beating Tennessee 69-68 on Dec. 5, 2004.

Casey Jones and Johnathan Burroughs-Cook had 23 points each for the Mocs, who overcame major foul trouble with three players fouling out and three others finishing with four fouls each.

The Mocs led 39-31 at the half on the strength of hitting 7 of 15 3-pointers, but Georgia rallied back, finally taking a 57-55 lead on a 3-pointer by J.J. Frazier with 9:16 to play. The Bulldogs built as much as a five-point lead, but the Mocs fought back to tie the game at 66 on a jumper by Jones, who followed that up with a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 3:09 to play.

He then drove, hit a layup and was fouled with 24 seconds to play to give UTC a 74-73 lead, but missed the free throw. Charles Mann was fouled and split a pair at the line with 12 seconds to go to force overtime.

In the extra period, Jones started off with a jumper at the top of the key, then Eric Robertson nailed a 3-pointer from the wing. Greg Pryor then added another 3 as the Mocs built a seven-point advantage with 2:47 to play. Frazier then went on a 3-point rampage, hitting a pair from deep, the second making it 92-90 with 11 seconds to play. Dee Oldham then missed two free throws with seven seconds to play, but the Bulldogs were left with a half-court heave that bounced off the side of the backboard as the buzzer sounded.

Pryor finished with 18 points for the Mocs, who outrebounded Georgia 37-36. Frazier led the Bulldogs with 22 points, while Yante Maten had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Mann also had 17, while Kenny Gaines added 12, but fouled out late in the second half.

The Mocs host Hiwassee Monday at 7 at McKenzie Arena.
