No. 25 Mocs defeat Butler, 60-49

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team claimed a 60-49 win over Butler Saturday at McKenzie Arena.

Moses Johnson had 12 points and nine rebounds to lead three players in double figures. Aryanna Gilbert had 11 points, while sister Keiana had 11 points and six rebounds.

Tori Schickel had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs.

No. 25 UTC (2-0) used a 16-2 run in the second quarter to build a 27-19 halftime advantage, then stretched that lead to 14 points in the third quarter. Butler rallied, trimming the lead to 44-41 with 7:18 to play, but the Mocs outscored the Lady Bulldogs 16-8 down the stretch to claim the win.

The Mocs are on the road Tuesday, traveling to Indiana for a second-round game in the Women's National Invitational Tournament at 7 at Assembly Hall.
