The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga received a pair of late additions to its 2016 football roster Tuesday in defensive back Dy'Kari Hickey and offensive lineman Cole Strange.

Hickey, a 6-foot, 175-pound junior, spent the previous two seasons at Hancock College in California. He started his career as a defensive back but played offense last season and had nine pass receptions for 171 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 169 yards on 42 carries and four scores in eight games.

His father, Dante Hickey, was a standout football player at Cleveland in the 1990s and earned All-America honors in his lone junior college season.

The younger Hickey, who prepped at Hillgrove in Powder Springs, Ga., was a preferred walk-on at Tennessee for a while this year.

Strange primarily played defense at Farragut, amassing 96 tackles, 18 for loss and 7.5 sacks in 2015. It had been previously reported that he would attend Air Force after committing to the Mocs last fall.

The Mocs begin practice this afternoon at 3 at Scrappy Moore Field.
