Kyle Serrano, Vols fall apart in fourth inning against Memphis

CHATTANOOGA - Through three innings Saturday, Tennessee starter Kyle Serrano displayed what many of the baseball scouts positioned behind home plate came to see.

The right-hander, who Baseball America ranks as the No. 42 prospect among college players for the 2016 MLB draft, was consistently ahead in the count. Pitches were crisp, and the damage was limited to just two singles that wiggled through holes.

But then came the fourth, and everything unraveled. Memphis capitalized on three two-out walks and one costly error for a five-run frame, eventually unloading for six more in the sixth off the bullpen.
