The 10th-seeded Chattanooga State softball team lost 5-4 to seventh seed San Jacinto-South in the opening round Wednesday night of the NJCAA Division I tournament in St. George, Utah.

Chattanooga State's Lady Tigers (44-12) fell behind 4-0 but scored thee runs in the fourth inning and tied the score in the fifth, but the Texas team went ahead again in the sixth.

Tori Barnes batted in two runs and Kaleigh Wynne homered and singled for Chattanooga State, which plays Georgia Military today in a game scheduled for 5 p.m. EDT. Georgia Military lost 11-3 to No. 2 seed Salt Lake on Wednesday.
