Florida continues to dominate Southeastern Conference athletics across the board.

The Gators have won the SEC's All-Sports Award for a 27th time, sweeping the men's, women's and overall titles for a 16th occasion. Florida won five league championships during this school year: in baseball, men's swimming, women's golf, softball and volleyball.

"It's an amazing level of consistency to win it as often as the Gators have," Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin told the Gainesville Sun. "We swept the men and women for the 16th time, and no other conference team has swept once. It's fun to be around that level of excellence."

The overall title was Florida's 11th straight and its 25th in the last 26 years.

Florida was followed in the overall standings by Texas A&M, Kentucky, Georgia, Arkansas, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Missouri and Mississippi State. Texas A&M placed second in both men's and women's athletics, while Arkansas was third in the men's tally and Kentucky was third in the women's list.

The SEC's All-Sports Award used to be called the Bernie Moore All-Sports Award, and Alabama won the inaugural honor for 1973-74. Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee each won at least one all-sports award before Florida began its unprecedented run in 1992.

Florida's athletic year also included a second-place finish to Alabama in football and a second-place finish to Kentucky in men's basketball.
