Volleyball Lady Flames beat Southern Wesleyan 3-0

Lee University defeated visiting Southern Wesleyan 3-0 in NCAA Division II non conference volleyball Tuesday evening. The set scores were 25-15, 25-23, 25-16.

Silvia Sartori had 11 kills and 10 digs for Lee's Lady Flames (14-6), and Quinne Daoust, Alex Reuter, Brooke Wilsman and Ellisia Kimble added 10, nine, eight and seven kills. Sadie Johnson had 24 assists and 10 digs, Kristi Farley had 19 assists and five aces and MaKayla Beebe contributed 18 digs to the win. SWU is 13-9.

* At Dayton, Tenn., host Bryan College lost 3-2 (27-25, 23-25, 22-25, 25-17 15-9) to Appalachian Athletic Conference North Division leader Union (Ky.), which is 24-7 overall and 12-2 in the league.

Mariah Dunlop downed 16 kills and Hope Burnett and Anna Owens added 11 and nine for Bryan (5-18, 4-9), while Veronica Salas had 28 assists and 16 digs, Sidney Pierce had 19 assists and Kristen Parrish had 26 digs.

* At Black Mountain, N.C., Montreat improved to 13-11, 9-5 in the AAC, with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-15) win over Tennessee Wesleyan. TWU dropped to 5-18, 1-12.

Bethune has 66 assists

Former Baylor School standout Haven Bethune had 66 assists and 13 digs in Army's come-from-behind 3-2 win last Saturday over top-ranked Navy at West Point, N.Y.

The set scores in the Patriot League match were 20-25, 20-25, 25-21, 34-32, 15-12, and Bethune had 22 assists in the fourth set. She had 15 and 16 in sets two and three and has totaled 474 in 21 matches.

Geren honored again

Milligan College's Kellee Geren from Cleveland High School was chosen the AAC setter of the week for the third time this season after her 101 assists in 11 sets last week, with 39 in a 3-1 win over Bryan. She also totaled 30 digs in the three matches.
