Ringgold High School senior Bailey Farrow has decided to continue her softball career at Chattanooga State, according to Steve Chattin from the ProStar Fastpitch club program. Farrow was a second-team all-region selection for Ringgold and has been with ProStar for two years.

Chattin noted she is an academic-honors student with a 4.00 grade point average and some college credit already, and she "drew interest from multiple strong academic programs at the NCAA Division II and III level. Ultimately (it came down to) her desire to play close to home and for a strong national program such as Chattanooga State and an outstanding coach in Blythe Golden."

Said Farrow: "My family has known Coach Golden for years, and I know what a great coach she is to play for and to help me continue to grow as an athlete and as a person."

Chattin projects Farrow to play second base or outfield in college and said she is "capable of bunting, slapping and hitting away when needed. During the just-completed ASA nationals in Oregon she led our team in hits, batting average and RBIs."

He also praised her uplifting attitude and positive energy and predicted "great things" for her with the Lady Tigers and beyond.
