The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball program announced Monday the addition of Minnesota guard Morgan Hill, who signed with the Mocs after a weekend visit on campus.

The 5-foot-10 Hill scored more than 2,000 points during her career at Minneapolis South High School and averaged 26.2 points and seven rebounds per game as a senior, when she led the team to a 21-4 record and an undefeated mark in the Minneapolis City Conference.

She was a three-time conference player of the year and one of the 11 finalists this year for Miss Minnesota Basketball.

Hill's sister Tayler played for UTC coach Jim Foster at Ohio State and now plays for the Washington Mystics in the WNBA. Tayler also played with assistant coach Brittany Johnson and was coached by UTC director of basketball operations Debbie Black.

The Hills' brother P.J. played for the Ohio State men's basketball team.

Morgan joins 6-2 forward Abbey Cornelius and 6-foot guard/forward Eboni Williams as UTC signees for next season.

Mocs lose Wert

Ashlyn Wert announced her intention to graduate from UTC and transfer to St. Joseph's (Pa.) for her final season of college basketball.

The 6-5 Wert played in 41 games during her UTC career, scoring 36 points and grabbing 39 rebounds (10 offensive). She had eight points in a career-high 21 minutes as a sophomore in the season-opening win at Rutgers.

During the Mocs' trip to Nashville late last November, she scored a season-high four points against Northwestern, then grabbed four rebounds and blocked three shots in the win over Georgetown.

Her loss gives the Mocs 13 players expected to be on scholarship for the 2018-19 season, leaving two scholarship spots available.
