Sewanee men's basketball team runs record to 11-1

The Sewanee men's basketball team beat University of the Ozarks 84-70 Sunday in the Tigers' second and final game at Oglethorpe University's holiday classic in Atlanta.

Luke Smith had 22 points to lead five Sewanee players who scored in double figures.

Jordan Warlick added 16 points in 23 minutes off the bench, McCallie graduate Adrian Thomas scored 15, Cam Caldwell had 12 points, three steals and two blocks and Hunter Buescher finished with 10 points. Matt Lee's four assists led the Tigers, who beat Virginia's Bridgewater College 79-76 at the same event Saturday.

Sewanee (11-1) led just 42-38 at halftime Sunday but took off with an 11-4 run to start the second half. The Tigers, who are 0-1 in Southern Athletic Association play after losing their opener in overtime at Centre on Dec. 1, return to league competition Friday as Hendrix visits for a 9 p.m. EST tipoff.

Lance Gardner scored 13 points to lead the Eagles (2-10).
