Mocs report
UTC's shooting struggles continued Monday, as the Mocs shot just 36 percent from the field in an 18-point road loss to Virginia Tech. The team managed just three 3-pointers in 14 attempts while shooting just 61 percent from the free-throw line. They were led by Bouldin's season-high 21 points.
Flames report
Liberty is coming off an NCAA tournament appearance, with a number of key pieces blended in with some quality transfers on its current roster. Lytle, a transfer from Arkansas-Little Rock, is a knock-down shooter who has made 67 percent of her 12 shots from 3-point range, while Rettstatt averages around 10 rebounds per contest. Outside of Lytle, who is making 50 percent from 3, the rest of the Flames have struggled from long range, making 9 of their combined 36 attempts.
Key matchup
Regardless of the opponent, the Mocs have played well defensively in the early part of the season. It's been a collective effort that will have to continue while they try to resolve the shooting struggles, but the fact that the effort on the defensive end has been what it's been should be a great sign that will have to continue tonight against a solid Liberty team.
