David McDaniel won the 7 Bridges Marathon on Sunday in Chattanooga in 2 hours, 49 minutes, 9 seconds, with William Ansick second in 2:49:35 and Emily Ansick the first female and sixth overall in 3:13:00. Elias Groft, Benjamin Hosea and Ryan Gruhlke were third through fifth in 2:54:19, 3:00:24 and 3:03:31, and Mary Craig was the second woman and ninth overall out of 308 finishers in 3:18:17. Jason Altman (1:19:34), Devin Edwards and Andrew Dibb were the first three out of 819 in the half marathon, and Margaret Fitch (1:34:48) was the women's winner and 18th overall.

Soccer

* The UTC women rallied to a 2-2 draw at Virginia Military Institute in their final regular-season game Sunday and will host the same Keydets in a Southern Conference tournament match at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Mocs wound up 8-7-3, 4-3-2 in the league and tied for sixth with Mercer. VMI (6-8-2, 0-8-1) scored twice in the first 14 minutes, by Amber Levy on a rebound of a Kiley Cropper shot and by Cropper, but UTC's Bailey Gale and Lauren Dluzewski scored at 23:22 and 28:45, Gale from a Masey Fox pass. The Mocs had margins of 25-16 in shots, including 6-1 in overtime, and 8-2 in corner kicks and got seven saves from Ashton Shields.

* Three goals in the last 19 minutes gave the Lee University women a 3-0 Gulf South Conference win Sunday at West Alabama, but West Alabama won the men's game 2-1. Clinching a spot in the league tournament, the Lady Flames (10-5-1, 7-4) led 19-6 in shots on goal but didn't score until Avery Engels headed in a corner kick from fellow freshman Julia Kaset at 71:05. Riley Engels and Kate Carney scored later, and Taylor Green had six saves in Lee's third shutout in a row. For the Lee men (8-5-3, 6-3-2), Jared McWhorter scored in the first half.

* Six players scored for the Dalton State College men in their 6-1 Southern States Athletic Conference win Saturday over Brewton-Parker, after the women's teams tied 1-1. Steve Taylor scored twice, Kevin Villatoro had a goal and two assists and Sebastian Guzman and Daniel Valenciano each had a goal and one assist for the Roadrunners (7-7-1, 3-3), who outshot the visitors 26-2 with a 17-1 on-goal margin. Jose Villalobos had DSC's other goal. Adriana Delgado scored from an Alyssa Bilbrey assist for the Lady Roadrunners (6-5-3, 0-4-2).

Golf

* A final-round 299 Sunday lifted the UTC women into a tie for 10th at 937 in Louisville's 14-team Cardinal Classic. Illinois at 863 won by 19 strokes over second-place Maryland. UTC's Monica San Juan tied for 22nd individually at 226, and Maddy McDanel shot 231. Kirsty Beckwith, playing as an individual, shot 234 with Dorota Zalewska at 237.

Volleyball

* Destiny Stewart had 24 kills, 18 digs and five aces as Sewanee ended its regular season with a 3-2 Southern Athletic Association win Sunday at Hendrix (18-6, 10-4). The set scores were 25-22, 26-24, 25-27, 21-25, 15-12. Also for the Tigers (19-7, 9-5), Constance Connolly had 56 assists and 16 digs, Olivia Nichols and Ellie Pedersen 14 kills apiece, Mason Gardella 10 kills, Sydney White 25 digs with seven kills and Peyton Parent 19 digs.

Field Hockey

* Sewanee won 1-0 at Transylvania on a 55th-minute goal by Elisabeth Domittner from a Ceara Caffrey pass. Rachel Blum had three saves for the Tigers (9-5), who outshot their hosts 19-7.
