The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga signed 14 players Wednesday as college football's early signing period for 2020 began. Here are capsules of those signees:

RB Gino Appleberry

5-foot-9, 205 pounds, Atlanta (Western Kentucky)

Appleberry will join the Mocs in January and have three seasons of eligibility remaining. He appeared in 12 games as a Western Kentucky freshman in 2018, rushing for 196 yards and three touchdowns on 56 carries, before redshirting this past season. He a team captain at Westlake High School, where he rushed for 1,600 yards and 16 touchdowns his final two seasons and was a two-star prospect by 247Sports.com as a senior.

WR Tyron Arnett

6-1, 185, Belle Glade, Florida (Western Michigan)

A two-time selection to the Mid-American Conference's all-academic team, Arnett will join the Mocs in January and have two seasons of eligibility. He played in eight games as a Western Michigan freshman in 2017, making 13 catches for 210 yards and a touchdown, played in seven games as a sophomore and redshirted this year. He was a three-star prospect out of Pahokee High School, where he had 60 catches for 1,222 yards and 16 touchdowns for a 14-0 team. ESPN ranked Arnett one of the top 150 receivers in the country.

ATH Lucas Brown

6-1, 180, Chattanooga (Red Bank)

He helped lead the Lions to a 10-win season with 63 receptions for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns this year while also adding three interceptions and six pass breakups on defense. He earned all-region honors for coach Chris Brown's football team and is currently starting for the fourth consecutive season for the Red Bank basketball team, having already earned three all-district selections.

QB Ty Gossett

6-3, 225, Asheville, North Carolina (Jireh Prep School)

Gossett is set to join the Mocs in January after spending one season at Jireh, where he passed for 14 touchdowns and ran for five more. He was a two-time all-conference pick at T.C. Roberson High School, where he passed for more than 7,000 yards and had 77 touchdowns in three seasons as a starter, including 2,481 yards and 27 touchdowns his senior season. A National Honor Society member, he also lettered in basketball and baseball.

TE Travon Jones

6-5, 205, McDonough, Georgia (Fork Union Military)

Jones is one of eight early signees who will enroll in January. Before spending a semester at Fork Union, he starred at Dutchtown High School, where he earned all-region honors after totaling more than 400 receiving yards and making 10 touchdown catches for a 12-1 team. The 18-year-old is an honor student whose father, Thomas, played for legendary coach Eddie Robinson at Grambling.

DB Reuben Lowery III

5-10, 180, Powder Springs, Georgia (Hillgrove)

The three-sport standout will join the Mocs in January. He earned all-region honors at Hillgrove this past season after intercepting two passes and breaking up 10 others. A 4.0 student, Lowery III also earned all-region honors in track and field, and he lettered in basketball. The speedy athlete is expected to be a cornerback for the Mocs.

OL Jeremiah Katt

6-4, 300, Mesa, Arizona (Fork Union Military)

A Fork Union student this fall, Katt will join the Mocs in January. He played guard and tackle at Mountain View High School in Arizona and was a key part of an offense that amassed 5,000 yards his senior season. The physical lineman also made his mark as a wrestler, posting a 54-3 record his senior year.

TE Christian Martin

6-4, 250, Chattanooga (Baylor School)

Martin was an offensive lineman for coach Phil Massey's Red Raiders before switching to tight end this past season, where he earned all-region honors. He helped lead Baylor to a 9-2 record with five catches for 75 yards and, said Massey, "great blocking." Martin has also been an all-region pick in baseball.

DL John Prince

6-2, 230, Stockbridge, Georgia (Stockbridge)

Prince played outside linebacker and defensive end for an eight-win team this past season, when he averaged seven tackles per game. He will join the Mocs in January. He was the team's MVP as a junior after helping lead the Tigers to 12 wins and a GHSA Class AAAAA semifinal appearance. Prince also lettered in baseball and wrestling.

DL Giovanni Reviere

6-5, 270, Chattanooga (Purdue)

The former McCallie School star will join the Mocs in January and will have two seasons of eligibility. He played in seven games this past season and 13 in 2018 at Purdue, where he had 30 career tackles, including three sacks and five tackles for loss. Reviere was a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com after being a Mr. Football Division II-AA Lineman semifinalist and earning all-state honors his senior season.

OL Haze Solomon

6-7, 250, Athens, Alabama (East Limestone)

Solomon was a team captain for his high school team, earning most valuable lineman honors as a senior after recording 36 pancake blocks. The versatile athlete earned all-region honors as a tight end this past season, when he also started at defensive end.

DB Jordan Walker

6-3, 190, Lafayette, Alabama (Lafayette)

Walker was an all-state defensive back as a two-way starter and key return specialist for coach James Lucas. He was moved to quarterback his senior season and passed for 1,204 yards and eight touchdowns while also rushing for 1,028 yards and 14 scores. He recorded 85 career solo tackles and 13 interceptions, including seven his junior season. A National Honor Society member, Walker also lettered in basketball and track.

WR Tyler Walker

6-1, 180, Moultrie, Georgia (Colquitt County)

The rangy receiver played for one of Georgia's top high school programs, making 65 catches for 800 yards the past two seasons. An honor roll student, he played for a state title twice, part of a three-year run in which the GHSA Class AAAAAAA Packers won 37 games and were nationally ranked his junior season.

OL Reid Williams

6-2, 275, Ringgold, Georgia (Ringgold)

Williams was the first recruit to committ for UTC's 2020 signing class. He was a member of the Times Free Press Dynamite Dozen this past season and a two-time Best of Preps pick as a three-year starter for coach Robert Akins and the Tigers. He was injured this past season but is expected to make a full recovery in time for the Mocs' preseason practices next summer. Prior to the injury, the center graded out at 96% for the Tigers. Williams, whose brother Bucky starts on the offensive line for Austin Peay, is a 4.0 student who also lettered in track and field.
