Even with team losses to Birmingham-Southern last weekend, Sewanee's Lee Haber and Paisley Simmons were named Tuesday the Southern Athletic Association swimmer and diver of the week, respectively. Haber won the men's 400-yard individual medley and 100 breaststroke and was part of the first-place 400 freestyle relay. Simmons won both the 1- and 3-meter women's diving events. She already had qualified for the NCAA diving regional.

Lacrosse

* The Tennessee Wesleyan men's lacrosse team tied for third with Montreat in the Appalachian Athletic Conference coaches' preseason poll released Tuesday. The Eagles were 16-1 in 2018. AAC tournament runner-up Cumberlands (12-4) was picked second for 2019. Wesleyan's women previously were No. 2 in their nine-school poll, also with Reinhardt No. 1.
