KNOXVILLE - Tennessee's football Volunteers gained a commitment for the 2020 recruiting cycle Friday from Cooper Mays, a four-star offensive lineman who preps at Knoxville Catholic.

The 6-foot-3, 275-pounder is rated as the No. 5 center in the country according to 247Sports.com's composite rankings, which include ratings from ESPN and Rivals.com. He chose the Vols over offers from Auburn, Duke, Florida and Georgia, among others. His brother Cade is a sophomore offensive lineman at Georgia.

They are sons of former Tennessee offensive lineman Kevin Mays.

Cooper Mays is the Vols' 10th nonbinding commitment for 2020 and the second offensive lineman in that group. The blockers have been a program weakness in recent years.
