Christian Brown, the nation's No. 61 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle, committed Friday night to play for coach Tom Crean's Georgia Bulldogs.

Georgia was the first team eliminated from this week's Southeastern Conference men's basketball tournament, but that hasn't kept the Bulldogs from making noise.

Two days after Tom Crean's first season as coach concluded with an 11-21 record, the Bulldogs received a commitment Friday night from Christian Brown, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound small forward from Columbia, South Carolina. Brown, who averaged 13 points and five rebounds this past season at Virginia's Oak Hill Academy, is rated by 247Sports.com as the nation's No. 61 prospect in the 2019 class.

Brown is Georgia's fourth top-100 recruit in the 2019 cycle, joining 6-5 shooting guard Anthony Edwards (No. 2) of Atlanta, 6-6 small forward Jaykwon Walton (No. 69) of Montgomery, Alabama, and 6-6 small forward Toumani Camara (No. 96) of Hollywood, Florida. Walton and Camara are signees, with Edwards having committed last month.

Georgia now has the SEC's top class and ranks fifth nationally behind Arizona, Villanova, Southern California and Gonzaga.
