LADY VOLS REPORT

New head coach and former Lady Vol Kellie Harper will get her first taste of coaching for the same university where she won three consecutive national championships (1996-98). Her first UT team will feature six players who played during last season's 19-13 campaign plus sixth-year senior Lou Brown (who missed last season due to injury) and five new players.

EAGLES REPORT

Carson-Newman won 22 games last season and qualified for its second consecutive NCAA Division II tournament. The Eagles return two of the South Atlantic Conference's top 10 leading scores in Kayla Marosites and Byrd. They pace an offense that's been in the top seven in the country in scoring average over the past three years.

KEY MATCHUP

Not much is going to be gleaned in terms of tonight's matchup. Tennessee has won 27 straight in this series, the previous five meetings by an average of 45.6 points. How will the Lady Vols defend? How well will they shoot? Do they have players who can create for others? Those are the questions that will start to be answered, but there won't be much else to learn tonight as the Lady Vols shouldn't be pressed.
