Georgia sophomore receiver Dominick Blaylock, who was recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that he sustained during last December's loss to LSU in the Southeastern Conference championship game, has torn the same ACL for a second time.

According to a release sent out Thursday morning, Blaylock "suffered an injury to his left knee Wednesday during a non-contact drill. Surgery will be required, and he will miss the 2020 season. A full recovery is expected."

The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder from Walton High School in Marietta received his first scholarship offer as an eighth-grader from former South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, and he is the stepson of Chattanooga Lookouts co-owner John Woods.

"He had worked so hard to get back," an obviously disappointed Woods said.

Blaylock played in 12 games as a freshman, earning late-season starts against Florida, Texas A&M and Georgia Tech, and racking up 18 receptions for 310 yards (17.2 yards per catch) and five touchdowns. He scored Georgia's first touchdown against both Florida and Auburn, with the score inside Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium coming from 51 yards out.

He also took over punt returns, collecting 14 for a solid 9.1-yard average.
