Storyline: The Mocs would like to forget Thursday night's 60-46 loss at Samford, where they shot just 36% and committed 24 turnovers. The best way to do that would be to kick a team when it's down. Mercer is on a 10-game losing streak and has had its own offensive struggles this season, shooting 38% from the field. The Bears have won the past five meetings with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, though, and in one aspect present a dangerous matchup for the Mocs. Mercer has averaged nine steals per game this season and its opponents have averaged 18 turnovers, so if the turnover bug bites the Mocs again, this one could get tight.

What's at stake? It's safe to say a loss would negate the positive momentum the Mocs had after back-to-back Southern Conference wins at home over Wofford and Furman last week. Win, though, and Thursday's meltdown can be put behind them.

Up next: The Mocs will end a three-game road swing with a 1 p.m. game Feb. 1 at East Tennessee State.
