Georgia is expected to have one of the deepest secondaries in college football this season, but Divaad Wilson will not be part of it.

The 6-foot, 195-pound redshirt sophomore from Miami announced Monday morning via Twitter that he was entering the NCAA transfer portal. Wilson played in 13 games last season for the Bulldogs, who led the nation in scoring defense, earning starts at the "star" position against Notre Dame and Kentucky.

"My time at the University of Georgia has been a wonderful experience - especially the fans," Wilson wrote. "I love you guys and the atmosphere, but I have decided that parting ways with UGA so I can be closer to home during this time would be in my best interest."

Wilson was a four-star signee out of Miami Northwestern High in 2018, when he was the nation's No. 242 overall prospect in the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He redshirted in 2018 but played in Georgia's 28-21 loss to Texas in the Sugar Bowl, collecting four tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass breakup.

His most memorable game last season was the 23-17 win against Notre Dame, when he made three tackles, broke up one pass and intercepted another. He had four tackles last year in the 19-13 defeat of Texas A&M.

Wilson did not play in the Sugar Bowl win over Baylor due to an undisclosed injury.
