Tennessee and Gonzaga will renew their men's basketball rivalry much sooner than later, as the two schools announced Wednesday that they will collide Dec. 2 in Indianapolis as the first of two games in the Jimmy V Classic.

The No. 12 Volunteers will challenge the top-ranked Zags inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. on ESPN, with that game followed by No. 2 Baylor against No. 8 Illinois. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, fans will not be allowed.

Tennessee and Gonzaga have met six previous times, with the Vols winning the most recent encounter, 76-73, in Phoenix on Dec. 9, 2018.

The addition of the Gonzaga matchup gives the Vols 26 games in their desired 27-game regular season.
