Tennessee received its highest-rated commitment of the 2022 college football recruiting cycle Monday afternoon, collecting a nonbinding pledge from Greater Atlanta Christian offensive lineman Addison Nichols.

Nichols is a solid four-star prospect, according to 247Sports.com, which ranks the 6-foot-5, 318-pounder as the nation's No. 3 interior offensive lineman and the No. 106 prospect overall. He is the second four-star pledge among Tennessee's 13 commitments, joining quarterback Tayven Jackson of Greenwood, Indiana.

"Tennessee has a lot of opportunity for me, in and out of football, and just felt like home," Nichols told 247Sports. "I felt most comfortable there."

Nichols, whose mother went to Tennessee, picked the Volunteers over North Carolina and Ohio State and had taken recent visits to Florida, Georgia and Southern California.

The addition of Nichols boosted the Vols to No. 30 in the 247Sports team rankings.
