Tennessee redshirt junior receiver Cedric Tillman announced Thursday afternoon that he would be returning for the 2022 season, giving the Volunteers yet another prominent offensive piece moving forward.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder from Las Vegas revealed his decision on Twitter.

"While I have made significant strides in my game this year, I feel like I have much left to prove in the Orange & White," Tillman said.

Tillman signed with the Volunteers in 2018 and had just eight career catches for 124 yards in his career before this season. He has erupted in Josh Heupel's up-tempo offense to amass 57 receptions for 931 yards (16.3 yards per catch) and nine touchdowns.

Entering next Thursday afternoon's Music City Bowl against Purdue, he needs 69 yards to earn a 1,000-yard season. Tillman will face the Boilermakers having tallied six consecutive games with a touchdown and three straight 100-yard games.

Tillman's decision to return follows those by quarterback Hendon Hooker and tight ends Jacob Warren and Princeton Fant.
