What's another hiccup for the University of Tennessee football program at this point?

The school announced Wednesday morning that it has paused all football team activities after recent rounds of COVID-19 surveillance testing revealed multiple positive tests among staff members and players. Those staff members and players who tested positive immediately self-isolated and are taking the appropriate safety measures in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health department guidelines.

Tennessee had set next Tuesday as the launch of the 15 spring practices allotted by the NCAA under new coach Josh Heupel, with the Orange & White spring game set for April 24. ESPN announced Wednesday that the Orange & White game will have a 4 p.m. start and will be streamed on SEC Network+.

The Volunteers are coming off a disappointing 3-7 season that ended with the team having to pull out of the Liberty Bowl due to COVID-19.
