Former Montgomery Bell Academy linebacker Jackson Hannah, who spent his first three college seasons at Nebraska, has decided to continue his career at Tennessee.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder was a three-star signee for the Cornhuskers in 2019 and will have three seasons of eligibility with the Volunteers. Hannah redshirted as a freshman and did not get in any games in 2020, but he played in all 12 contests this past season on special teams, tallying more than 75 snaps.

His one appearance as a linebacker transpired in the 52-7 whipping of Fordham, when he collected his lone career tackle in five plays.

Hannah, who will be a preferred walk-on, was among the 18 new players that Tennessee announced Monday afternoon as having enrolled for the spring semester. Former Florida offensive tackle Gerald Mincey started classes Monday as a scholarship player, while former Appalachian State quarterback Navy Shuler and former UCF tight end Charlie Browder will be walk-ons along with Hannah.

Among Tennessee's new players are 13 midyear enrollees from the 2022 class who signed in December - quarterback Tayven Jackson, running back Justin Williams, receivers Cameron Miller, Chas Nimrod, Kaleb Webb and Marquarius White, offensive linemen Mo Clipper, Brian Grant and Addison Nichols, defensive linemen Jordan Phillips and Tyre West, linebacker Elijah Herring, and defensive back Dee Williams.

Another midyear enrollee, tight end Titus Rohrer of Bryan, Ohio, is joining the program as a walk-on.

Hannah stayed rather busy at MBA, racking up 157 tackles, 32.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, six fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles during his career. The Big Red reached the Division II-AAA championship game in his sophomore and junior seasons.

The decision by Hannah continues a busy NCAA transfer portal stretch that includes former Georgia receiver Jermaine Burton committing to Alabama, former Georgia defensive back Latavioua Brini committing to Arkansas and former Alabama linebacker Shane Lee committing to Southern California. Another Crimson Tide linebacker, Jaylen Moody, recently withdrew his name from the portal.
