Tennessee moved up to 11th in the 247Sports.com team recruiting rankings Friday evening after receiving a nonbinding pledge from Tyree Weathersby, a three-star defensive lineman from New Manchester High School in Douglasville, Georgia.

Weathersby racked up 67 tackles in his junior season and was named Georgia's Region 6-AAAAA defensive player of the year. The 6-foot-4, 251-pounder is rated by 247Sports as the nation's No. 64 defensive lineman and the No. 530 prospect overall.

Multiple Power Five programs offered scholarships to Weathersby, who ultimately picked the Volunteers over Kentucky, Mississippi State and South Carolina.

"They definitely said I can step in and help early," Weathersby told 247Sports. "They said they need some more ends, and I'm coming here to do my job."

Weathersby is Tennessee's 13th commitment for the 2023 signing cycle.
