5-at-10: True or false Tuesday, dodgeball, Achy Breaky records, Dems debate discussion, moving Halloween, Rushmore of pro wrestling

We've got four quick items of interest this morning. We will have a question. It is true or false Tuesday, right?

But between cooking breakfast and hustling to get to the sand, my time is crunched. So ...

From the satellite offices on the coast of Amelia Island, let's roll.

Ridiculous, even for White Goodman

OK, we love the "Dodgeball" movie. We hate this dodgeball saga.

One 10-year-old kid was hit in the face with a dodgeball last spring. He was of a different color than the kid who threw the ball. The momma of the kid who took the face shot is calling the move racist.

It's simply ridiculous, right? Regardless of the color of the thrower or the kid who has not studied the 5 Ds of dodgeball (dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge)?

But I will offer this as a clarifying side note: The kid who was hit with the ball was white and the thrower was black. If the roles were reversed, I would still think - and write - the same thing but some would likely believe I was racist for that view and may even think I am open-minded for this view.

Clearly, the race prism is Hubble-Telescope powerful these days.

Unbelievable, part II

OK, if you had pulled Billy Ray Cyrus aside in 1992 - and the heights of the Achy Breaky Heart craze - and told him, a) this is nowhere close to your biggest hit and b) you will be nowhere close to the most famous person in your immediate family, is there anyway he could have believed either of those?

Well, the infamous ABH - the cringe-worthy country ballad that reached triple platinum status in multiple nations - does not hold a candle to "Old Town Road," the Billy Ray collaboration with Lil Nas X. "Old Town Road" is the single most popular song in musical chart history, staying at No. 1 for a record-smashing 17 weeks. (It passed Mariah's "One Sweet Day" and the combo smash "Despacito," each of which was at No. 1 for 16 weeks.)

And if you think Hannah Montana (aka Miley Cyrus) didn't pass Papa Billy Ray and his rattail long ago, well, I got a dodgeball game you should look into.

Dems in da middle

Bernie Sanders and his socialist sister Elizabeth Warren are in the middle of the stage in tonight's next round of the Democratic Debate.

I would not expect Bernie and Beth to take shots at each other. They are longtime allies.

I would expect that each will bid to batter Biden, as in Joe, as in the Democrats' clear frontrunner.

I would also expect the stage full of also-rans tonight to swing a bunch of haymakers trying to land talking points and to make a noticeable splash in a political pool this crowded.

Who ya got dominating or even dictating the Dems debate discussion, dear?

OK, we are at the beach.

This and that

- Braves played. Braves lost. Stop me if you have heard this one, but the Braves bullpen pooped itself. Three Braves relievers combined for 2.2 innings, walked six - yes, six - and allowed two earned and certainly did starter Dallas Keuchel no favors, considering Keuchel allowed one through five innings got one out in the fifth before Chad Sobotka entered the game and allowed all of the inherited runners to score in the four-run sixth.

- Thought this was very interesting. There is a petition that has 100,000 signatures, which means it will get a look from the White House, that wants to change the official date of Halloween from Oct. 31 to the last Saturday of the month of October. Hmmmmmmmm.

- Marked? The U.S. Soccer folks have broken their silence on the much ballyhooed equal payment issue and claim the women have been paid more than their male counterparts over the 2010s.

- If you are neck-deep in tonight's Bachelorette, well, I am truly sorry for your poor TV choices.

- There are few TFP sports traditions as cool and well-received as Stephen Hargis' annual prep football tour on the start of practice in the state of Tennessee. Here's the breath-taking effort he made Monday.

Today's questions

Let's play a little true or false. True.

True or false, Halloween should move to the last Saturday of October.

True or false, Old Town Road is actually a worse song than Achy Break Heart.

True or false, there is not a Democrat on the stage tonight who can beat Trump.

As for today, we are getting late in the month of July. True or false, the summer has vanished right in front of our eyes.

It's July 30, and on this day, Arnold turns 72. Dude was born in Austria and could barely speak English when he arrived as a bodybuilder and now look at him. Kudos, Terminator, you cleared a slew of obstacles in your journey.

Bill Walsh died on this day in 2007. Truth be told on a true or false Tuesday, Walsh is the father of the modern-day NFL offense.

On this day in 1948, professional wrestling premiered on prime-time network TV.

Who's on the all-time Rushmore of professional wrestling. (And yes, this one is tough.)
