BOISE, Idaho - Scott Pinckney shot an 8-under-par 63 Saturday for a share of the lead in the Albertsons Boise Open, the third of four Web.com Tour Finals events.
Pinckney matched two-time PGA Tour winner Sangmoon Bae and Roberto Diaz at 14-under 199 at Hillcrest Country Club. Bae shot a 67, and Diaz had a 65 on a day when 11 players were tied for the lead.
Pinckney returned to play the Web.com Tour this season after missing the majority of the 2017 season because of a back problem. The 29-year-old former Arizona State player entered the tournament 101st in the race for 25 PGA Tour cards.
Bae returned this season after two years of mandatory military service in South Korea. He's 12th on the Finals money list, with the 11 players ahead of him already locked in to earn cards.
Pinckney birdied five of his final seven holes, making a 12-foot putt on No. 18.
Diaz, 34th on the money list, birdied Nos. 15-17 and saved par on 18 with a 25-footer.
Max Homa, 10th in the card chase, was a stroke back after a 66.
Kyle Jones (64) was fifth at 12 under. He already earned a card as a top-25 finisher on the Web.com Tour regular-season money list.
Chattanooga's Stephan Jaeger (71) was tied for 63rd at 4 under.
Gilbert in top 15
GRAND BLANC, Mich. - Scott McCarron shot a 9-under 63 at Warwick Hills Golf Club for a share of The Ally Challenge lead with Tom Lehman and Jeff Maggert.
McCarron played an early three-hole stretch in 4 under, making an eagle on the par-4 12th, and he had six birdies and a bogey on his second nine.
McCarron, 53, has seven PGA Tour Champions victories after winning three times on the PGA Tour.
Lehman shot his second straight 67, and Maggert had a 68 to match McCarron at 10-under 135.
Mark O'Meara had a 64 to join Paul Broadhurst (68), Tom Byrum (66) and Esteban Toledo (69) at 9 under. First-round leader Brandt Jobe had a 71 to drop into a tie for eighth with David McKenzie (69) at 8 under.
Ooltewah's Gibby Gilbert III (68) was tied for 15th, four strokes out of the lead.
Olson up by two
EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France - Chasing her first major title, Amy Olson fired a bogey-free 65 to take a two-shot lead entering the final round of the Evian Championship.
The 26-year-old American broke clear to a 14-under 199 total after twice being in a four-way tie atop the leaderboard.
Olson made an eagle at the par-5 9th, and she added three birdies on the back nine to stretch her lead over Sei Young Kim, who shot a 64 while flashing the form that set an LPGA Tour record 31-under winning total at the Thornberry Creek Classic in July.
Mo Martin (69) was two shots back at 10 under, one clear of Georgia Hall (68), Inbee Park (67) and Angela Stanford (68).
Five Americans were in the top 10, with this the final chance in 2018 for a U.S. golfer to win a women's major.
Wood's lead slim
SPIJK, Netherlands - Chris Wood birdied the 18th hole to card his second 65 at the KLM Open and take a one-shot lead into the closing round.
The English golfer got off to a sluggish start with a bogey on the par-4 2nd at The Dutch, and he reached the turn 1 under for the day before reeling off five birdies on the back nine to reach 13 under for the tournament.
Japan's Hideto Tanihara matched the lowest round of the European Tour event with an 8-under 63 to join overnight leader Ashun Wu (71) and Jonathan Thomson (68) in a three-way tie for second at 12 under.
